FKA Twigs and The Weeknd have teamed up on a moody pop single called Tears In The Club. FKA Twigs as well as The Weeknd have had a huge year and the collaboration is something we didn’t know we needed, but we are sure glad it’s here.

Following the release of her latest single Measure of a Man which features popular UK rapper Central Cee – FKA Twigs continues to prove her diversity and ability to adapt to different vocalists. In this instance, the title of the single Tears In The Club lives up to its name, with a hard-hitting club beat, synths that take you to euphoria and lyrics that relate if you are in heartbreak. The Weeknd complements the airy vocals throughout the duration of the song and contributes a heart-throbbing verse that follows FKA Twigs narrative.

Complementary visuals directed by Amber Grace Johnson were also released, which paints the dark theme of being sad and partying at the same time. With obvious references to a night out, including dance routines and strobe lights, the video also portrays scenes outside of your “typical night out” such as FKA Twigs on what seems to be a hospital bed and The Weeknd in miniature form running from FKA Twigs.

The Weeknd has been dominating charts as of late thanks to his latest releases with other well-known acts like Swedish House Mafia and Post Malone, now with another one to add to the catalog, he closes off 2021 strong. Whether or not this single is included on FKA Twigs new highly anticipated album (which she mentions was made in quarantine) or not, we are sure glad this collaboration happened and look forward to seeing what next year brings for these two pop stars!
